Benefits of Sanitizing Sports Equipment.



There are many benefits to having your sports equipment sanitized frequently.  Not only does the sanitization process reduce/eliminate odors but it also kills harmful bacteria.  Washing/laundering sports equipment may compromise the integrity of the equpment and can lead early break-down of the gear.  Proper care and maintenance of all sports equipment should be followed at all times to prolong the lifespan of the equipment.  MRSA is not selective in its victims - it can happen at any age level.  Prevention is possible through proper maintenance, sanitizing and good hygiene.  

Sanitizing Process

 

Fresh Gear of Minnesota uses the Sani-Sport sanitizing process which is a patented ozone gas/dry clean system.  Therefore, the sports equipment is not placed in a washing machine where the materials may be exposed to detergents that break-down the equipment and compromise its integrity - putting the athlete at risk for injury.  In addition, only one set of equipment goes into the machine at a time, reducing the potential for cross contamination as opposed to large machines that handle multiple sets of gear.

 

The patented ozone process is the single most effective way to reduce and eliminate dangerous bacteria and odors.  The ozone gas penetrates deep inside the fibers, killing dangerous bacteria and eliminating odors.

SHARED EQUIPMENT & PROPER MAINTENACE PROCEDURES 

 

Prevention is cost effective.  Fresh Gear of Minnesota recommends having all sports equipment sanitized at least 1-2 times (possibly more depending upon frequency of use) per year.  The more it is used, the more frequently it should be professionally sanitized.

 

After EVERY use of the sports equipment, it should be immediately removed in its entirety from the athletic bag and dried thoroughly.  

 

At the end of a "season" (we know hockey is year-round) get the equipment professionally sanitized by Fresh Gear of Minnesota.  We do have a trailer to accomodate entire sports teams and offer FREE PICK UP & DELIVERY.
